Driving Miss Shelly

I'm sure most of you have seen the movie, Driving Miss Daisy. Well I was looking at pictures trying to think of something different to do. So this is what I came up with. Just imagine Jessica Tandy's voice as Shelly, and Morgan Freeman or whatever his name is as Billy.

My My Mr. Billy. It sure does look like a nice day for a drive in this
beautiful sunshine. Do take me for a ride!

Sho thing Miss Shelly. I'll go fetch the car and bring it around.
Don't you go nowhere, I'll be back in a jiffy.

As soon as Miss Shelly's dear faithful servant, Billy, got the car
they proceeded to go for a long drive in the country, where Miss
Shelly got out to enjoy the sunshine. Billy, like the good servant he
was, waited in the car.

My goodness gracious Billy! It sho looks like a storm's a brewin'.
Whatever shall we do?

Well golly bum Miss Shelly, I reckon you maybe ortta get back
here and get in the car befo you get soakin' wet in that nice
pink outfit you bought yestidy.

Oh my gracious! At long last! My faithful servant Billy has once
again saved me from a torrential downpour and brought me
back to the safe and loving arms of my darling PaPaw.

Fun Weekend

Another weekend with the kids. They may mess my house up to no end, but I love having them with me. And of course, a weekend with the kids wouldn't be complete without pictures. Hey Robert, there's even a couple of me in there. So here they are. I love sharing my pictures with my friends!
We had a party after church for the preacher, celebrating 40 years of preaching. A good time was had by all and there were even baloons for the kids. Here's Rebecca with hers:

Saturday night, we figured out that we can watch live hocky on my computer. That's Billy's favorite sport, so that kept him occupied for awhile:

Of course the kids still like posing for pictures over and over, but I'm only posting one of them posing:

Here's me and Shelly before we went to church this morning. She didn't want to sit still. I think someone slipped her some speed with her milk this morning:

But Billy was really good and sat still. He's talking so much better now:

Here is me with both kids. Rebecca was already gone with my mom and Nic didn't want his picture made with Nana:

We went to McDonalds on the way to take Nic home and the kids got some spy glasses with their happy meal. Actually Shelly got a doll, but Billy gave her his glasses:

And I'll bet you all didn't know Shelly was so talented. She's going to sign up to play guitar with Bon Jovi:

I don't know what my son was trying to prove, but he wanted me to send him this picture so he could put it on his computer as wallpaper. Maybe it'll keep the goblins away:

Abortion

A doctor asked Jesus why he hasn't sent any person into the world who has the knowledge to cure AIDS, help world peace, or cure cancer. Jesus replied, "I did, but you aborted them." Consider these 4 situations:
There's a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she's pregnant with the 15th. They're living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?
If you said yes, you have just killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists in the 19th century.
The father is sick with the sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. 1st is blind, 2nd is dead, 3rd is deaf, 4th has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?
If you said yes, you have killed Beethoven.
A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?
If you said yes, you have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer.
A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiancee is not the father of the baby, and he's very upset. Would you consider recommending abortion?
If you said yes, you have declared the murder of Jesus Christ.
If this made you stop and think about abortion, maybe you should think more about it.

OH WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!

The day has finally come. I received my acceptance letter from Walters State Community College nursing program. I have waited so long for this! I start classes in May, so maybe I'll just have to go summer, fall, and spring semesters before I graduate. That's only one year! It looks like I'll be an RN after all! I was starting to wonder. Now, to figure out how to pay the tuition. And buy the books. Now I'm making myself depressed. LOL At least I'll be getting money from the VA after classes start. I already can't wait to graduate. I will invite everyone I know to my graduation. I know this isn't much of a post, but I'm so happy I could just...jump for joy. Okay, so I'll do another post when I have something more entertaining to share. Have a good one!

Couple's Retreat

We got back from our retreat today. And wouldn't you know it? I forgot to take my camera!! We had a wonderful time. I didn't know the cabin would be so far up in the mountains. The hill going up there was almost straight up. Even though there are no leaves on the trees this time of year, it was beautiful. I felt so safe there. Away from everything except the wonderful friends from church and my husband. We really learned alot about each other this weekend. We had a meeting last night and the Holy Spirit visited. It was wonderful. Then this morning we had breakfast and another meeting. All in all, what can I say? It was great! We all ate so much that we thought we were going to pop. And then Christy was trying to get us to eat more. She sent food home with everyone. There were 9 couples there counting us. We had 2 cabins but next year we're going to get one with 12-14 bedrooms so we can all stay in the same cabin. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom. I would liked to have stayed. So quiet and peaceful. I will go back next year and I won't forget my camera. Maybe someone else made some pictures that they will let me borrow to put on a blog. But we had a good time and stopped at the Tanger Outlet Mall on the way home and did some shopping. My favorite past time. LOL

Weekend in the Mountains

The weekend is finally almost here. I can't believe it. Doug and I are going with some other members of the church to a couple's retreat in the mountains. We'll all be staying in a cabin. Sounds like so much fun. We leave tomorrow and spend Friday and Saturday nights and come back on Sunday. I don't know what time we'll be leaving but I hope to get the house cleaned up before we leave. I hate to come home to a dirty house. And it's dirty, believe me. What am I going to do without the kids? I'll miss them so much. Especially Nic. I don't get to see him that often. But I'll be getting him on Tuesday afternoon and taking him back to his dad's house on Wednesday. I think in April he'll be coming to live with Bambi. I hope that's what it's about anyway. He misses his Mommy so much and his mom misses him too. Rebecca misses him too. Last time he was coming up she said, "Oh I'm glad tomorrow's Friday!" When I asked her why she said "Because Nic will be here". They might fuss some but they love each other. Anyway, what brothers and sisters don't fight?
Well, I'll try to post again after the weekend. I'm going to take my camera with me so I hope I get some good pictures.

About Me

I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
